I really can't picture anyone having a crush on me. I can’t picture someone thinking about me before they fall asleep, or telling their friends about me. I can’t picture anyone getting butterflies because I said hi to them, or even just smiled at them. I can’t picture someone smiling at the computer screen or their cell phones when we’re talking. I mean like…Why would they even do that? I’m just me. Nothing extraordinary, or special.
to me harry potter on a literary standpoint is about as deep and meaningful as The Little Train That Could, and on a film level (film as an art form) I would say twilight, but at least the potter series has actors and a sensible director, yet it was a hasty rush out to haul in money from the…
I’m sorry but I can’t let something as ignorant as this go.
Can you answer honestly that you’ve read all 7 books? If you did you would know that it is quite the literary achievement, that has won several awards for being so. I don’t care if you’re a fan or not, but saying that the series is as deep and meaningful as The Little Train That Could is VERY ignorant. Sure, the first two books are whimsical, and “kiddish.” The whole series is about a boy fighting to save the world he loves, the people he loves, defeating evil, and avenging is dead parents. The series has everything a good meaningful story needs. They may not be written as beautifully as something such as The Lord of the Rings, but Harry Potter written so anyone can read them. There are also a TON of mythological parallels and moral undertones. The Little Train That Could could be written in a month. The planning and writing of the Harry Potter series took 17 YEARS. The two are incomparable. I agree that the films are cash cows, but are still incomparable to Twilight. The Twilight Saga is about a senseless girl worrying about which guy she should be with. The Harry Potter films basically follow the same plot as the novels. Again, to compare Harry Potter to something as simple as that is pure ignorance. Just because you dislike something does not mean you get to say it is near meaningless. I don’t mean this rudely, but do say such ignorant things unless you know what you’re talking about. Seeing as I’ve read and analyzed each book a good 10 times(possibly much more), I feel have the right to call your post ignorant. I’ve also read and seen all of The Twilight novels, and films, so I know the two are incomparable.
Me: Can I use the bathroom? Teacher: I don't know, can you? Me: When I was using "can" I was using its secondary model form as a verbal modifier asking for permission, as opposed to expressing an ability. I thought since you were a teacher you'd know that. My bad. MAY I use the restroom?
